Ransomware is a type of malware that can prevent you from using your computer, there are other types that are just malicious and stop users from accessing their computer system. The worst type of ransom is the one that encrypts all your files, this malware uses AES + RSA encryption. These type of malware are made by cyber-criminals that force there victims to pay the ransom to recover their data. These are known as Cryptolocker, Cryptowall, ACCDFISA, SYNOLOCK, CRYPVAULT, CRYPTESLA, CRYPFORT, CRYPTCOIN, CRITOLOCK, CRIBIT, CTBLocker and many more.

Malwarebytes Anti Ransomware Beta is a NEW program that prevents Ransomware from injecting itself onto the system and encrypting your data. The tests I showed was fresh samples of different types of crypto ransomware. Malwarebytes Anti Ransomware done an outstanding job at keeping my data and computer safe from crypto ransomware.
